A Whole Lotta Country…

…in my soul.

I am beginning my summer planning.  And I am thrilled about the prospect of my summer concert calendar.  It’s all country and it’s all fantastic.  And I couldn’t be happier about it.

I have been in the search for the perfect country music festival – clearly the best would be CMA Fest, but that is not happening.  So now, I am on the lookout for a great country concert schedule.  And I think that I have found it.

My summer is starting to book up and I’m really excited about it.  Really, my August is pretty jam-packed, which makes me hope that I do not get a job somewhere down south because all of my shows are up here in NY in August.

So, would you like to know my country concert schedule as it stands for this summer (please note, this is very subjective and I have not purchased any tickets yet).

July 26th: Tim McGraw with Brantley Gilbert and Love and Theft.  Tim is obviously the headliner here, but I am just as, if not more, excited about the openers.  I have seen Brantley Gilbert and Love and Theft twice and will definitely be sure that I am at this show early enough to see both of these artists opening up for Tim.  This will be an absolutely phenomenal show, I am sure and I can’t wait to see it!!!

August 9th: Keith Urban with Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch.  When I saw this I almost screamed a little – okay, I probably did scream a little.  Because I have a friend that swears that I will love Keith in concert, although I haven’t seen him before.  And I adore Little Big Town.  They are my absolute favorite and I am soooo bummed that I don’t get to see them headlining.  And I have recently become obsessed with Dustin Lynch’s album, so I am pumped for him as well.

August 11th: Blake Shelton with Jana Kramer and Easton Corbin.  This will be one bad ass rocking show.  I am going for Jana Kramer, but I have wanted to see Blake for ages now – ever since he wasn’t huge and played at an outdoor venue and my mother wouldn’t let me go (that’s how young I was).  I could hear him from down the road, but I am pumped to finally see a live show of his.  I am excited about Easton Corbin.  I like his music and I think it’s fun and I’m a fan of all country music.  But I’m most excited about Jana Kramer.  That’s my girl and I’m sooooo excited that she will be doing this show!!!

August 21st: Kenny Chesney with Eli Young Band and Kacey Musgraves.  Of all the concerts, this is the one that I’m most lukewarm about, actually.  I think the one that I am most excited to see here is Kacey Musgraves.  I have seen Eli Young Band and love them and I have wanted to see Kenny for a long time.  Don’t take my lukewarm-ness to mean that I am unexcited because I am super excited about it!!

Needless to say, my lineup is already packed with stars and something that I am really looking forward to!  I will be looking for more shows, but I probably can’t do too many more because of monetary reasons.  My plan is to buy a country megaticket to Bethel Woods probably and then do a couple of other shows and go to the free shows at the NYS Fair (if they are any good, which I think they should be, hopefully).

My hope is that the megaticket will include the Brad Paisley show because I would love to see him again (well, I want to withhold judgement until I see who the early show is and who is opening…I loved seeing Brad, but would definitely be more interested in the openers for him).

I also hope to find a show with the following people: Carrie Underwood, Hunter Hayes, Kip Moore and Dierks Bentley.  Hopefully also some Florida Georgia Line (notice my title, did you?) and many others!!!

Here’s to a successful summer of great country music!!  I am done writing about it for now – but I will post next week most likely about the reason I love country music and country concerts so much!
